The two institutional centres of HYPERKINO are The Film and TV School of the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague and The Cinema Art Academic Research Institute in Moscow.
Natascha Drubek-Meyer works and publishes in the fields of Film/Media Studies and Slavic Studies.
Her last book is about early Russian Cinema ("The Order of Light", forthcoming). As a Marie-Curie-Fellow at the Film School of Prague, N. Drubek-Meyer is at work on the project “Hypertextual Film Presentation, Designing Digital Editions for the European Cinematographic Heritage". She is the Cineview Editor for www.ARTMargins.com.
Nikolai Izvolov – film historian and film scholar. Author of the book “Phenomenon of Film. History and Theory” (2001). Head of the department of the history of Russian cinema at the Cinema Art Academic Research Institute, Moscow.
Collaborated with Chris Marker on the biographical film about of Aleksandr Medvedkin (“The Last Bolshevik”, 1992). Developed a creative method of film reconstruction and applied it to the archives of Dziga Vertov, Aleksandr Medvedkin, Lev Kuleshov etc.
